ElderCare Initiative - Supporting elderly women in community

Program Overview

The Utafiti ElderCare Initiative is our flagship program dedicated to improving the quality of life for elderly population in Kenya's most vulnerable communities. Through evidence-based interventions, we address the unique challenges faced by older people, particularly those living alone or in poverty.

Our approach combines immediate relief with sustainable, long-term solutions to ensure sustainability, dignity, health, and social inclusion for our elderly population.

  • Food Security: Establishment of community gardens and sustainable agriculture training
  • Health Monitoring: Regular health check-ups and mobile clinic services

Program Components

Nutritional Support Program

Monthly food package distribution containing essential nutrients for elderly health, supplemented with nutrition education workshops.

Community Gardens

Establishing and maintaining community gardens where elderly people can grow vegetables for personal consumption and small-scale sales.

Health Outreach

Mobile clinics providing free health screenings, chronic disease management, and referrals to healthcare facilities.

Water Safety Program

Installation of water purification systems and training on water treatment methods to prevent water-borne diseases.
